Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) is an herb native to Europe. The leaf, flower, and root have been used for various infections. Dandelion is found throughout mild climates of the northern hemisphere. The polysaccharides in dandelion are known to reduce stress on the liver and support its ability to produce bile. They also help your liver filter potentially harmful chemicals out of our food. They are particularly high in calcium, Fiber, iron, manganese, potassium, thiamin, vitamins, A, B-6, C, E and vitamin K. |

How Much Space Does Dandelion Plants Need? In terms of spacing, it is recommended to maintain a spacing of 6-9 inches (15-23 cm.) between plants in rows 12 inches (30 cm.) apart for dandelion seed growing. |

What Type Soil Does Dandelion Like Dandelion typically indicates heavy, compacted, acidic soil, but also grows in fertile well-drained areas. Dandelion's long taproots bring up calcium and other minerals from the subsoil. These can enrich the garden as dandelion decomposes. Daisy (Bellis perennis) indicates dry, well-drained soil with low fertility. |

Planting Instructions Sow your dandelion seeds directly into your garden soil six weeks before the last frost of the spring. The ground temperature should be at least 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Plant your seeds a quarter of an inch below the soil surface and only lightly cover them with soil to help the sunlight germinate them. |

Harvest Time To harvest and eat dandelions, try to clip the small leaves from the plant before the plant flowers.
